C LEAGUE SEMIFINALS - GAME 2

The second C League semi final was always going to be a real battle to see who would eventually triumph and progress through to the final.

This seasons games between the two old foes Venom & Tigers had seen very close contests , the Tigers holding a slim advantage with 3 wins & 2 losses.

1st Period
The game started at a frantic pace with Tigers #6 Braden Harris scoring early to give the Tigers 1 - 0 advantage. Both teams pushed hard without any success to see the score remain the same.

2nd Period
With the 1 - 0 advantage the Tigers would press hard with 11 shots on net in the second but it would be Venom's rookie goalie #1 Grace Gaffeney turning aside all shots to keep her team in the contest.

3rd Period
This game was always going to come down to who would make the most of there opportunities in the 3rd while cutting down the oppositions shots on net. Venom did just that & #11 Jori Kolisnyk would start the fightback by scoring early followed by #2 Takashi Kato netting the teams second.
Tigers #33 Martin Perkins would hit back straight away to bring the game back to 2 - 2. With only a few minutes remaining with overtime looming Venom would pick up a penalty that would see the face off in venom's defensive zone.
This was the advantage the Tigers where looking for with #2 George Koliandr shooting from the point to score and give Tigers 3 - 2  win.
