B LEAGUE CUP SEMIFINALS - GAME 1

Sunday night saw the top 4 B League teams battle out the Semifinals to determine who would go through to this years B League Cup Final.

SF Game 1 - Savages 4 vs Chiefs 1

Game 1 was a repeat of the last cup round where the result was a 4 - 4 draw so this game was anyones. Even though Savages had this season's results on there side the previous game showed that Chiefs where not going to go away without a fight.

1st Period 
Savages #82 Benji Potvin would open the scoring to get his team onthe board but this advantage was soon cancelled out by Chiefs #15 Jonathan Broadbent equalling the score 1 - 1. 

2nd Period 
Both teams pushed hard to try and gain advantage again on the scoreboard but the period was dominated by the 2 goalies ( Savages - Gaston Bruneau & Chiefs - Paul Taillon ) turning aside allcomers with both teams at time giving up odd man rushes relying on there respective goalies to make some spectacular saves to keep it all locked up at 1 - 1 

3rd Period 
Both teams started the 3rd with renewed passion and it was Savages #11 Jeff Albert who scored early to put Savages in the lead.
This lead to the Savages dominating the 3rd period with 15 shots on net compared to Chiefs 6 & saw #80 Jacob Slack & #11 Jeff Albert scoring later in the period to confirm Savages place in this coming Sundays final at Botany rink.
